Bandsaw Box - boat shaped

This box was just an enhancement of the basic box.The box itself was 'boat shaped' and the handle was made to look like the superstructure. |

As before the lid and base of the box were cut first, but before the inner profile was cut a slice was taken for the back of the boat to enable square corners at the rear. Next the inside of the boat hull was cut to a paper template. |

The outside profile was cut to give an even wall thickness and then the lid was added and the same profile traced. A simple superstructure shape was then cut from a lighter wood. Before the superstructure was glued in place the lid was cut at an angle so it narrowed towards the stern. |

To finish the boat had a funnel added and the whole assembly was coated in teak oil |
